You Need to Make it Fun!
It's your life and that means that it's your job to make it fun, if you want it to be fun. You can make it miserable if you like, that is also your prerogative. We’re going to assume you’d prefer an optimistic and cheerful existence that is generally free from doomsday thinking and boredom.
You Can Only Blame Yourself
That whole, “mom, I’m bored” routine was much easier than looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking, “what are you gonna do about it?” And maybe it’s as easy as remembering what your mom told you to do about it. Your mom might have had a long list of crafts for you to do or she might have handed over her list of chores and put you to work, but she always had a solution.
We’re obviously making assumptions on this one, your mom might have just said something more like, “tell someone who cares” and went back to whatever she was doing. Although, if that was how your mom handled your boredom chances are you could be writing this post on how you solve the old boredom factor like a well trained ninja.
Kids Know What They Want
Have you ever noticed how children know exactly what they like and don’t like, based on what they know. Sure, they don’t know whether they will like their martini with olives or if driving a big truck is as fun as it looks—but they are decisive. I want this and I don’t want that. Peas over broccoli. They like some people more than others. A hard yes and a firm no. Red is better than blue, and yellow lollipops get left in the bowl.
Know What Makes You Tick
We’re all different. Let’s stop painting our walls beige and think about what our younger selves would have wanted. We doubt beige makes your heart sing or gives you the sudden urge to jump on the bed. What do you think nine-foot ceiling were for? Seriously.
Jump on your bed, take yourself to the waterpark, visit an arcade, paint your wall the colour you loved as a child and make your life more fun. You can always go back to beige, it’s not going anywhere.
