Your Brand. Your Baby.
Pony Friday is as much of a kid as any kid we've ever met. It needs an incredible amount of dedicated attention; the same level of attention and nourishment as a small child. As the old proverb goes;
"It takes a village to raise a child."
And it takes a community of believers to raise a brand. Brands cannot survive without the help of like minded people to support it. We need our marketing clients, our online shoppers, our pop-up shop visitors and champion ambassadors to take us from A to B. We can't get there on our willpower alone.
Your Brand Belongs to Other People
We curate the Pony Friday brand for others. When we create marketing and branding for our corporate clients, we are assisting them in bringing their vision into reality. We help them get the attention of likeminded individuals who will help them to grow their business. We serve our clients and in turn, they serve us. It's a give and take relationship and we can't have one without the other. It's a bit of a chicken or egg situation. You can create a business for a need that already exists or you can make a business in a new sector that fills a need people didn't realize they had.
Toddlers Walk at Different Times
Have you ever heard parents bragging about when their baby learned to walk? It's a source of pride when a toddler reaches their toddling stage and it happens at different times for each infant. We can't compare our business to other businesses that don't do what we do. It's apples and oranges. One baby might walk early, but might potty-train late. One kid might speak early and never learn to share. We're all different and different is good.
Have Patience with Your Brand
If you're growing a brand or a business, or both, you should remind yourself that it's better to be the tortoise than the hare. They hare is a marketing campaign, it's a media blitz, it's not a long term business growth strategy.
Keep your eyes on your own kid and stop comparing.
