Sometimes making life easier for your clients will make running your business easier too. Last year we started allowing our marketing clients pay for their services with their credit cards. It was miraculous, we emailed them an invoice and within days it was paid. Paid in days; instead of the weeks it had previously taken to get a cheque in the mail. Plus, most of our clients love the opportunity to collect their credit card perks: collecting points for flights, merchandise or cash back. This move made our clients and our bank account happier.
Accepting Credit Cards Cost Money
It's not free, although few things your business requires to grow come without a price tag attached. It's about weighing that cost against the benefits and finding ways to offset that cost.
Make Life Easier for Yourself and Your Customers
Not having an online payment collection system was tripping us up and we could have easily added it sooner. We already accepted credit cards in our online store, yet we saw these as two very different processes. They are and they aren't. One we get paid for a service and the other a product. Same-same-ish.
What Does Pony Friday Use?
For our ecommerce we use Stripe, we use Square when we sell our apparel at a market and for our marketing services we use QuickBooks Online. This is the current lay of the land, but once we find something that will make our lives easier we'll update our processes.
