Does Your Brand Measure Up?
We’re always pleasantly surprised by the places and people that Pony Friday gets us access to. Reputation means a lot, but when nobody has heard of you it sure helps to have a solid brand.
Here’s what we imagine goes through their heads: Who wouldn’t want to talk to the people at Pony Friday? Based on their brand, they seem incredibly fun.
Of course, we do our very best to be fun and live up to our brand image and most of the time we’re successful. Admittedly, there are times when things don’t go as planned or we have to negotiate some contract terms to get a more favourable deal or collect money from a client. Sometimes super-fun-tastic won’t get the job done.
Some Brands Fail
The majority of small business owners don’t see the value in putting money and time into developing their brand. It’s expensive and they can’t see the value in it. Brand value is often intangible, especially in the early years. Whether or not you choose to invest in brand development should have more to do with who you want to be when you grow up than who you are right now.
Perception Is Often Reality
Do you know who your customers think you are—or what they think of your brand? It might surprise you. We live in a world where social media and having an online presence are a must—plus, having a good presence is important so you are cultivating the best possible exposure. Simply being there isn’t good enough and inconsistent branding across different platforms creates distrust and does the opposite of building loyalty. There is an art to marketing and that’s why you want to hire the right people for the job.
Rebranding Is Always An Option
